It’s time for a new feature (because after creating my Features page I realized 800 features is just not enough for one person)! Today I bring you the first edition of Bookish Snaps.
Thanks to the world of Bookstagram, I have been slowly diving into the world of book photography. I’m not an expert by any means (I didn’t manage to land on any “Favorite Bookstagrammers of 2014” lists like Sana or Josephine :P), but I have been having a lot of fun taking bookish photos and seeing my growth in photography over these past couples of months. With the recent addition of my first DSLR camera, I thought it would be fun to create a feature that allows me to showcase my attempts at photography.
Each Bookish Snaps feature will have a central theme. This week it’s Into the Woods We Go. One of my favorite locations for taking photos of books is the wooded area near Dave’s house. Every once in a while I’ll fill up my backpack with books, pick up my DSLR, and head out to the woods to waste a couple of hours taking pictures of my books. I try to let the woods inspire me, just walking around until something catches my eye and inspires me to take a picture, but it’s often hit or miss. (I’ve walked around for a hour before without taking any pictures.) Below are some of my favorite pictures that I’ve taken in the woods so far. Enjoy!
