Review Policies

At the moment, Kelley is the only one of us who takes on review requests. Right now, her queue is very full, so most likely she will not be able to accept any new ones. If you would like to be notified when this changes, please subscribe to the blog or send her an email.

All review requests must be submitted through our Review Request form.

Thank you!

Kelley’s Review Policy

Thank you for considering me as a reviewer for your book(s) and checking my review policies! I mainly read and review books for fun, so this is more of a hobby for me than it might be for others. My reviews are usually on the lighter side, without much in the way of hardcore analysis, but I do try to be thorough while describing my experiences with books.

Right now, I mostly read Young Adult fiction. I am willing to read the occasional New Adult, Middle Grade, or Adult book, but my interests lie mainly with YA. I do like a wide variety of genres and styles, but there are certain kinds of books I am most likely to want to read and review these days.

Genres I am interested in reading and reviewing:

  • Fantasy (epic, high, urban, light, any!)
  • Science Fiction
  • Paranormal
  • End-of-the-world scenarios (dystopia, post-apocalypse, pre-apocalypse)
  • Steampunk
  • Historical
  • Mythology

Genres I am generally NOT interested in reading or reviewing:

  • Romance
  • Contemporary
  • Erotica
  • Nonfiction

These just usually don’t interest me. I do read the occasional contemporary YA novel, so it’s not completely off the table. Though I do enjoy nonfiction, I do not read much of it lately, and I usually find it harder to review.

If I accept your book, I cannot guarantee a review, but I will always try.

I do like to post my reviews in a timely fashion, so I will likely post it soon after reading the book. If the book is releasing soon, I will try to time my review so that it is within a few weeks of the book’s release, unless otherwise requested.

If I write a review, it will be posted on this blog. I also post my reviews on Goodreads (unless it’s a mini review, then I may or may not), as well as on Amazon.

Priority is given to books that are already on my wishlist.

I will accept ebooks, audiobooks, and physical ARCs.

In accordance with FTC guidelines for bloggers and endorsements, the books that I review are either purchased/borrowed by me, or provided by the publisher/author free of charge. I am not compensated in any way in exchange for positive reviews, and I don’t let anything other than the book’s contents affect my opinions and review.

If I’m reviewing an advance copy of a book, whether it was provided free from the author/publisher or borrowed, I will make a note of this on the review.

Thank you!

Unsolicited Books

I love reading books and I often write reviews for them — but I don’t always write reviews for the books I read. If you’ve wandered around this blog, you may have noticed that each month I post mini reviews for books I didn’t fully review. And even some books don’t make it to the mini reviews. This method allows me to maintain a more manageable schedule for reading, reviewing, blogging, and living.

That said, I have a limited capacity for reading and reviewing books every month. Therefore, I cannot guarantee that I will be able to fulfill every unsolicited book request, though I appreciate that you thought of me for reviewing your book.

I will most likely only respond to your review request if I am interested in reading and reviewing the book.
