Slowly Surfacing
Slowly Surfacing

Slowly Surfacing is my chance to check in and see how well I’m progressing through my massive TBR piles. I take a look back and what I read the previous month, compare it with the goals I set for myself, and then plan ahead for the current/upcoming month. Let’s see how I’m doing.

What I Read in July

The Tarot Cafe #1 by Sang-Sun Park Walk on Earth a Stranger by Rae Carson A Book of Spirits and Thieves by Morgan Rhodes Rowan by Josephine Angelini

Gathering Darkness by Morgan Rhodes Firewalker by Josephine Angelini The Tarot Cafe #2 by Sang-Sun Park

  • Books: 2
  • Audiobooks: 2
  • Manga: 2
  • Novellas & Short Stories: 1

First off, can we all just marvel at the RAINBOW that my books read in July make?! I swear I didn’t plan that, but LOOK! ^_^

Honestly, I’m impressed that I was able to get any reading done, considering how busy and hectic my entire month of July was! The mangas are such quick reading, but that’s one reason I love them! All that driving back and forth between Houston and Austin, and I was still only able to get through two whole audiobooks! Truth be told, I really had to binge read Firewalker at the end of the month to finish it.

My Reading Plan for August

The Girl at Midnight by Melissa Grey The Immortal Heights by Sherry Thomas Zeroes by Scott Westerfeld, Margo Lanagan, and Deborah Biancotti

That’s right, until my situation is more… confirmed… I have no idea how much reading time I will have in August, so I’m keeping things simple. I’ve got eARCs of The Immortal Heights and Zeroes, so they’re top priority to read before September. And I listened to most of The Girl at Midnight in July, but I’ll finish up that audiobook in August. And then… who knows?!

How is your reading going so far this year? Are you making progress on your goals and challenges for 2015?

  1. Just gonna applaud you for reading manga. -pats back- Good job, Kelley. I approve. (I’m a manga fan with a manga TBR that’s insane now. WHY ARE ALL THE MANGAS NOT FINISHED?!?! -weeps-)
