News & Updates at Oh, the Books!

YA_web_awardsIn case you didn’t see Kelley’s excited tweets on Friday, we have some pretty cool news. Our blog has been nominated for Established YA Reviewers and Favorite Fact Finder — and Asti’s Bookish Games have been nominated for Favorite Series or Feature — in YA Highway’s YA Web Awards!

We are ridiculously excited, flattered, and thrilled — thank you so much to whoever nominated us! If you’d like to vote for us (not to mention, vote in all of the other categories), please do so while voting is still open!

In Case You Missed It

This week began our first round of Oh, the Guests! and we hope you’re enjoying it as much as we are so far!

Our Lives This Week

Heyyy everyone! Long time no see.

I’m back in the States! I’m back with my family! Dave is here! YAYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!

I haven’t done anything too crazy this week though. I guess if I had to sum it up: birthday, beach, shopping, Godzilla, Jenga, and foooooooood! That’s it in a nutshell, and I’m quite happy with it.

Exciting new though – we may be going to New York this week! Sure, it might have been nice to have gone last week so I could sneak into BEA, but ah well. Mom has wanted to go back to New York for a while, and I’ve never been, so we thought it might be a fun thing to do since she has the week off. It should be quite the adventure! 🙂

I don’t have a whole lot to report on for this week since it’s mostly been business as usual for me. I did make a huge step toward my future this week, though, and hopefully I will be able to share that with you all soon. I’ve also got some fun things in the works for myself this weekend, AND my summer painting class starts this coming Wednesday, so I’ll likely be reporting on those in next week’s recap!

Well, my week was quite eventful. For those not following my eternal saga on twitter: my brother’s cat bit the hell out of my hand on Monday afternoon. It was so bad that I couldn’t use my fingers or hand, and eventually had to go to the doctor for antibiotics and a tetanus shot. So basically, I’ve been handicapped all week — and still recovering.

Aside from that, I got presents in the mail, went to an AWESOME event for Jen Mathieu’s debut: The Truth About Alice, and saw Maleficent (which was freaking fantastic!), so at least the week ended on a high note.
